5.00 out of 5 · 1 review

The LSD strain in autoflower form crosses Barney's Farm's LSD, a Mazar × Skunk #1 indica, with an autoflowering line, so the plants bloom on their own and finish about 65 to 70 days from seed. Expect a compact 80–130 cm plant, an earthy, musky skunk aroma with mango and citrus, and a strong, euphoric body high. These autoflower seeds grow female plants under any light schedule.

Quick answer

What is the LSD strain autoflower?

LSD Autoflower is an indica-dominant autoflowering version of LSD, the Mazar × Skunk #1 strain from Barney's Farm, crossed with an autoflowering line that Barney's Farm calls Super Magnum Auto. Barney's Farm lists its LSD Auto at about 70% indica and 24% THC, ready 65 to 70 days from seed, at 80–100 cm indoors and 100–130 cm outdoors. It keeps the photoperiod LSD's musky, earthy skunk aroma and its reputation for a heavy, almost psychedelic-feeling high.

Genetics & origin

Where does the LSD strain come from?

The LSD strain was created by Barney's Farm in Amsterdam from a Mazar line, named after Afghanistan's Mazar-i-Sharif region, and an old Skunk #1, and this autoflower adds a ruderalis line to that cross. The photoperiod LSD flowers in about 60 to 65 days, and Barney's Farm describes its stone as super-trippy and very powerful, which is where the name points.

For LSD Auto, Barney's Farm crossed an elite LSD selection with Super Magnum Auto, an autoflowering line it doesn't document further, so the exact ruderalis source is unknown. The result keeps LSD's indica structure and earthy smell but starts blooming by age instead of day length. It is not the same plant as LSD-25 Auto, a separate strain SeedFinder lists under Fast Buds, or Zamnesia's own LSD Autoflower.

Does the LSD strain contain LSD?

No. LSD is only the name of this cannabis strain; the plant contains cannabinoids like THC, not lysergic acid diethylamide. Barney's Farm chose the name for the strain's strong, euphoric stone, which it says has potential psychedelic aspects. The effect is still a cannabis high, and its strength comes from high THC.

A strength warning from the breeder. Barney's Farm calls LSD Auto simple to grow but says it is not a strain to recommend for beginners, because the effect is so strong.

Effects, aroma & terpenes

What does LSD taste like, and how does it feel?

Aroma and flavor

LSD Autoflower smells musky, earthy and skunky, and tastes of earthy chestnut with mango, citrus and a sweet-and-sour edge, according to Barney's Farm; SeedFinder's notes add lemon, pine and herbs over the earthy base.

  • Musky skunk
  • Earthy chestnut
  • Mango
  • Citrus
  • Sweet and sour
  • Pine

Terpenes

Myrcene
Musky, earthy; top terpene in Leafly's LSD profile
Caryophyllene
Peppery, spicy depth
Limonene
Citrus top note

These LSD terpenes come from Leafly's photoperiod profile; Barney's Farm publishes none for the autoflower.

Reported effects

Barney's Farm describes LSD Auto as sociable and euphoric with a heavy, relaxing body high, lasting about 2 to 3 hours with possible trippy, spacey moments. SeedFinder users of the photoperiod LSD most often report spacey effects and couch-lock, so most people save it for the evening.

  • Euphoric
  • Sociable
  • Relaxed
  • Spacey
  • Couch-lock

LSD's reported downsides include confusion, fidgety or nervous feelings and couch-lock at higher doses, plus the usual dry mouth.

LSD effects here combine Barney's Farm's description of the autoflower with user reports for the photoperiod LSD on SeedFinder. People react differently, and nothing here is medical advice.

Grow guide

How do you grow LSD seeds?

LSD autoflower seeds are simple to grow: sow straight into the final pot, keep the lights at 18/6 or 20/4 from start to finish, train gently in the first weeks, and harvest about 65 to 70 days after germination.

  1. Germinate3–5 days

Plant LSD Auto seeds directly into the final container, since autoflowers lose time when transplanting disturbs the roots.

  2. Early growthWeeks 1–3

Use light LST to spread the main stem; skip heavy topping, because the autoflower has little time to recover.

  3. FlowerWeeks 4–9

LSD Auto begins to bloom on its own around week three or four; keep the same light schedule and lower humidity as the musky buds fill out.

  4. HarvestDay 65–70

Check trichomes from week 9 and harvest when most are cloudy, with some amber if you want a heavier effect.

Grow tips for LSD

  • Pick the pot size once. LSD Auto reaches 80–100 cm indoors; an 11–15 L (3–4 gal) final pot gives enough root room without slowing the short cycle.
  • Control the smell. The musky, skunky aroma from LSD's Skunk #1 side gets strong late in bloom, so run a carbon filter indoors.
  • Lean on its toughness. Barney's Farm describes LSD Auto as resistant to spider mites, mold and mildew and tolerant of cold, which helps balcony and outdoor growers.
  • Feed lightly at first. As a compact autoflower, LSD Auto needs less feed than a big photoperiod plant; start around half strength and raise it slowly in bloom.
  • Time outdoor sowings. Outdoors, sow LSD Auto after the last frost; plants finish about 10 weeks later, so a second sowing in early summer can still ripen in warm areas.
Buying guide

Is LSD the right strain for you?

Great pick if you

  • Want a fast, compact plant with no light schedule to manage
  • Like musky, earthy skunk aromas
  • Prefer a strong, relaxing evening effect
  • Grow on a balcony, in a small tent or in a cooler region

Think twice if you

  • Are new to strong THC (the breeder doesn't recommend it for beginners)
  • Want a light, clear-headed daytime high
  • Need a low-odor grow
  • Want to clone plants and keep mothers (autoflowers don't suit this)
FAQ

LSD strain FAQ

Is LSD Autoflower indica or sativa?

LSD Autoflower is indica-dominant. Barney's Farm lists its LSD Auto at about 70% indica and 30% sativa, with ruderalis added for the autoflowering trait. The parent LSD is mostly indica as well.

How long does LSD Autoflower take from seed to harvest?

LSD Autoflower takes about 65 to 70 days from germination to harvest, according to Barney's Farm, or roughly 9 to 10 weeks. It flowers by age, so it needs no change in light schedule.

What are the parents of LSD Autoflower?

LSD Autoflower is LSD crossed with Super Magnum Auto, an autoflowering line from Barney's Farm. LSD itself comes from Mazar and Skunk #1, so the autoflower carries Afghan and Skunk genetics.

How much THC does LSD Autoflower have?

Barney's Farm lists LSD Auto at about 24% THC. Leafly lists the photoperiod LSD closer to 18%, while SeedFinder gives 24% for it, so expect strong but variable potency depending on the grow.

How tall does LSD Autoflower grow?

Does the LSD strain have anything to do with the drug LSD?

No. LSD is just the strain's name, chosen for its strong, euphoric high. The plant contains THC and other cannabinoids, not lysergic acid diethylamide, and its effects are those of a potent indica-leaning cannabis strain.

Is LSD Auto the same as LSD-25 Auto?

No. LSD Auto is Barney's Farm's LSD crossed with Super Magnum Auto. LSD-25 Auto is a separate strain from another breeder, and Zamnesia sells its own LSD Autoflower too, so check the genetics on each listing.

Very very cerebral and mind boggling effects. It hits you immediately with just a few puffs and spins your mind around! I loved the gassy tastes mixed into the pungent and skunky profiles of LSD. Cultivation wise, it won’t get any easier than this. They are very low maintenance seeds. They’d practically grow anywhere because they are very mold resistant! Very thick and fluffy nugs, high volumes of resin give it a sticky texture.
