Blackberry Strain Autoflower SeedsA berry-scented indica autoflower with Kush roots
4.79 out of 5 · 19 reviewsThe Blackberry strain, grown from these autoflowering seeds, is a compact, indica-heavy plant that smells of sweet forest berries with an earthy, piney edge. Breeder figures for the best-known version, Fast Buds' Blackberry Auto, list up to 23% THC, a 9 to 10 week run from seed and plants of 70 to 110 cm. It blooms by age, not light, which makes it a forgiving pick for small tents.

What is the Blackberry strain?
Blackberry Auto is an indica-dominant autoflower, about 75% indica, built from Blackberry Kush-type genetics and ruderalis; the most documented version comes from Fast Buds. It finishes about 9 to 10 weeks after germination, reaches 70 to 110 cm, and is listed at 20 to 23% THC with little CBD. Growers describe sweet, fruity berry aromas over earthy and pine notes, and a relaxing, body-heavy effect.
Ratio from the Fast Buds data sheet published by Zamnesia. SeedFinder simply lists it as ruderalis / indica.
Fast Buds and SeedFinder users both single out a very sweet, fruity berry smell with earthy undertones.

Where does the Blackberry strain come from?
Blackberry Auto, in its best-known form, was bred by Fast Buds, which combined Blackberry genetics with an autoflowering ruderalis line. SeedFinder and Leafly record the cross as Blackberry Kush × ruderalis, while Fast Buds' own data sheet describes Blackberry crossed with purple Kush strains from Pakistan plus a little Canadian ruderalis. Both descriptions point to the same indica-heavy, berry-scented plant.
Fast Buds says its Blackberry Auto took first place at an Oregon autoflower cup, which Leafly dates to 2019; we could not find an independent record of that contest. The name causes some confusion, because the photoperiod Blackberry sold by Nirvana Seeds is a different cross of Black Domina and Raspberry Cough, and other breeders use the name for their own indica lines.
Is Blackberry Auto the same as Blackberry Kush?
Blackberry Auto is not the same plant as Blackberry Kush, but it descends from Blackberry Kush-type genetics. Blackberry Kush is a photoperiod indica that needs a 12/12 light schedule to bloom. Adding ruderalis made the auto smaller and quicker, so it runs from seed to harvest in about 9 to 10 weeks under the same light all the way through.
Check the seed type before you compare specs. Photoperiod Blackberry from Nirvana flowers for 9 to 11 weeks after the light change, so its timing and size do not match the autoflower.

Reported effects
Most people describe Blackberry Auto as relaxing and body-heavy, opening with a happy, euphoric lift before settling into a calm, couch-bound feeling. Weedmaps notes the Fast Buds version is more sedating than older Dutch Blackberry hybrids, and SeedFinder users warn that newer smokers may find it very couch-locking.
- Relaxed
- Euphoric
- Body buzz
- Sleepy
- Happy
Commonly reported Blackberry downsides are dry mouth, red eyes and heavy couch-lock that can make it a poor fit for busy days.

How do you grow Blackberry seeds?
Blackberry Auto seeds are a straightforward grow: start them in the pot they will finish in, run 18 to 20 hours of light every day, train lightly in the first month, and harvest about 9 to 10 weeks after sprouting.
- Germinate2–6 days
Sow Blackberry Auto seeds about 1 cm deep in lightly fertilized soil or coco and keep the medium moist, not wet.
- Early growthWeeks 2–3
The indica structure stays bushy and short. Tie the main stem down gently to spread the side branches toward the light.
- FlowerWeeks 3–9
Blackberry Auto flips into bloom by itself after about three weeks. Shift to a bloom feed and keep humidity around 40 to 50% as buds fatten.
- HarvestDay ~63–70 from seed
Harvest when trichomes are mostly cloudy with some amber if you want the heavier, sleepier end of its effect.
Grow tips for Blackberry
- Give buds airflow. Blackberry Auto packs dense indica colas, so a small fan and moderate leaf thinning help prevent bud rot late in bloom.
- Expect color with cool nights. Some Blackberry phenotypes take on purple or dark hues when night temperatures drop a few degrees below daytime.
- Don't top late. If you top at all, do it once by the third node; Blackberry Auto has only about three weeks before it starts flowering.
- Feed moderately. Autoflowers like Blackberry generally need lighter nutrient doses than big photoperiod plants; watch leaf tips for burn.
- Control the berry smell. The sweet aroma builds through the last weeks, so indoor growers should run a carbon filter from mid-bloom.

Terri Strouse –
Excellent for those who are just getting started. It only took about eight days for them to flower, and it was hardly any work. I smoke it to get rid of my migraines, stress, and this hybrid helped me a lot to have a long and deep sleep. Blackberry Auto is an excellent strain for achieving a relaxing, almost euphoric high. I suggest you guys try this!
Janice Fancher –
A marvelous strain. For relaxing, muscle weakness, and tremors, it functions very well. The only main disadvantage is the problem of one toke over the fence’. Two or three hits is necessary. Anything after that is only going to place you in a staring coma. Don’t dream about going for the control at all. It’s always that far away… With a sharp fruity odor, the plant also produces large and shaggy. The scent, though, is not instantly known as weed as many other (dominant) Indica.
Peter Huynh –
Super thankful to Beaver Seeds for making this available for purchase. I need not look elsewhere just to buy good quality Blackberry Autoflower MJ seeds. I have been growing this for quite some time now and I am loving the relaxing effect that it gives me every night! I have not left any reviews on the site yet, so I am doing this one today!
Brent Summers –
I am super satisfied with Blackberry AutoFlower Marijuana Seeds. I bought 10 seeds, and after at least 6 weeks, using the SOG method, they all grew up pretty well at 9-13 inches tall. I honestly tried strains from other online stores before but unfortunately, for some reasons that I don’t know, they don’t grow as fast and as tall as the ones I bought from Beaver Seed. You can never go wrong with Blackberry AutoFlower Marijuana Seeds. I will give them 5 stars for it!
Lynn Chandler –
Taste, THC, and Potency all in one delicious little nug! Its pungent smell and densely packed crystal covered flowers. One of the best smokes around. The buzz hits the head first, but subtle. And then the magic happens. Your whole body gets light and lazy. May even run this one again, I love it. My first time buying beans from you and I’m more than impressed.
Alfonso Page –
I have to rank this particular grow 10/10. It has a sweet fruity berry flavor. Superior in grind, color, and quality. Very Yummy! I call this either a night time smoke or rainy day smoke, not because it’s sedative, but you will be lazy. Great for relaxing and chilling. Not great for active days. This is an excellent strain for new growers. Thank you for having premium seeds.
Matt Keller –
Blackberry Strain has a sweet blackberry and earthy smell and taste. Very nice relaxing, mellow high. Great for social occasions, or just to relax after a long day. One of my top 10 strains ever. I am looking forward to growing it again. Safest and reputable company to buy from!
Lyle Munoz –
I am very proud of my first grow. I was not expecting very much but what I get I am satisfied. Incredible look. Great smell and flavor. Smooth smoke. One of my favorites by far hands down very smooth and an awesome body high. Keep up the good work Beaver Seeds!
Orlando Ball –
The fruity earthy flavor was smooth and not overpowering. No cough. It actually tastes and smells like blackberries. It helps me focus, helps me during this time of quarantine, it helps with depression and helps with thinking of good creative things to do with my family while being safe in the house. This is not my first go around with Beaver Seeds and will not be my last!
